OpenAI: ChatGPT and Codex to share one usage allowance from December

On 2 Nov 2026, OpenAI: OpenAI's Help Center (page updated 2 Nov 2026) says that starting in December 2026, Plus, Pro and Business usage allowances will be shared across ChatGPT and Codex, measured in tokens, as Work's agent features move into the main ChatGPT experience. Instant chat will not draw from that allowance.
You will see combined remaining usage and reset times in Settings → Usage. OpenAI gave no start day and no allowance sizes, and says it expects most users won't need to wait for resets more often than now. Nothing has changed yet.
